In Hope, Arkansas, a town near where I used to teach, the town in fact which is the home town of former President Bill Clinton, a rarely filmed peek inside the wonders of diverse American multiracial schools was revealed last week.
Now, this didn’t happen in an inner-city school. Hope is not a large city. It’s a small, rural town. There was no evil White racism even alleged to be remotely connected with this fairly normal school day. No, this was just T.N.B.. Except, in this age when people record everything with their cell phones, it was shared on video. Because of that, nine of the “students” now face charges of battery, disorderly conduct, and rioting. Four of the “students”, who are over eighteen, will be legally charged as adults. You might wonder why “students” are so old. That’s because they repeatedly fail and are forced to repeat grades. I once had a twenty-year old tenth-grader pick up his desk in my classroom and throw it at me because I made him sit up. He wasn’t Irish.
Parents, if you send your kids into racially diverse schools, this is often what you’re sending them into.
